Cat / Norwegian Forest Cat - Answered 1399 days ago
I have a 9-month-old female Norwegian forest cat. I'm thinking of getting her neutered pretty soon, but our local vet told us they don't run any blood tests before the surgery. However, I did some research and found that most clinics actually do perform blood tests before surgery. Are blood tests necessary before surgery? What are they usually checking in those tests?

Prothrombin timing is checked so that blood coagulation factor could be analysed as well albumin level is evaluated for drug kinetics.
