Dog / Labrador Retrievers - Answered 1456 days ago
My dog had weak joints in his hind legs when he was a puppy, but has grown bigger and started running around and climbing up and down the stairs. He loves to play around and wrestle with my other dogs. However, he sometimes yowls and drags his front leg - it often points in a weird direction so I suspect dislocation, but it fixes itself after a while. I can hear his joints click when I pick him up after these incidents. Do you think this problem will go away as he grows, just as it was with his hind legs?

Hello Koumba, it's cool you do care about your dog,but if Rui shows such symptoms, it's just safe to take her to your vet and go for an X ray. It's likely that she has Caninie Hyp Dysplasia. Not to worry much though, you could also receive a veterinary-approved glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate, and omega-3 fatty acid nutritional supplements. Many dogs with painful hip dysplasia will benefit from polysulfated glycosaminoglycan injections on a regular basis.
