My pet dog has a runny nose while awake, and suffers from a stuffy nose when asleep. He often cannot sleep well because of it, and wakes up panting and unable to breathe. He sometimes strains too much to get air that he ends up defecating. We've had medication prescribed before but it didn't work, so we don't use it anymore. Do you have any advice for us?

Hello lena, I'd advice that you take your doctor to see your vet. He might have to run some tests on her. What is wrong might be rhinitis or sinusitis or even bronchitis,or perhaps a blockage in the respiratory path,or allergies. Your vet would be able to place his fingers on what exactly the problem is, which would make solving the problem easy. Best regards
