My pet hasn't been eating much since yesterday, and her stool has been black and sticky three times in a row. She did eat her breakfast today but I'm a little worried. I think she's a little less energetic than usual. Is there anything I can look out for or do?

Hai Ayeleen. based on your information you gave, your pet might be have GI tract problem or parasitic infection. I advice to bring your pet to veterinarian near you. Regards, Dr. Nisrina

Try going to a clinic for an abdominal Eco, and maybe some blood tests, to see if everything is normal. Dark coloured stools, unless a pet is fed BARF, are something one should worry about.

Dear Nacar, I must commend you for the close monitoring you give your pet. You are really a dog lover. However,you don't need to panic. The nature and consistency of the stool mostly is dependent on the food. You should slightly change the diet to clear your doubts n fear. And if it continues, you might need to call your vet to fix an appointment. It could be helminth parasites

For example if you could tell us about her temperature and hydration level, it will be more nice. Any way I would like to suggest some laxative food and check for deworming history as well. You can deworm and visit a near by clinic as soon as possible.
