Dog / Yorkshire Terriers - Answered 1314 days ago
I sometimes find vomit on the sofa when I come home. Even when I’m at home, our dog hides away to throw up once in a while. Sometimes it's undigested food, and sometimes it's just transparent liquid, like gastric acid. Do you think it's because of the food? Or is there a possibility of some disease? I give my dog dry food, and take him to yearly checkups when I get him vaccinated.

Since the vomit is consistent, it quite safe you visit your doctor even though your dog might be okay and it's most likely not the food. If the vomiting has been going on for less than 12 hours, and your dog is perky and keeping down food and water, then it may be okay to wait and monitor the situation. One of the biggest dangers with dog vomiting is dehydration. When a dog becomes dehydrated, essential body functions start to break down. It’s time to call and visit your vet I suppose
